THE SERENELLI PROJECT. Join us in creating a stable community inspired by the life of Alessandro Serenelli where those who have re-entered society after incarceration can live, work, and lead a spiritual life. We are working on turning our house into a monastic cloister and are seeking volunteers to help in a variety of ways. Specifically, we are looking for an office manager, development & donor relations, re-entry mentors, and priest/community life director, as well as a variety of donations (prayer box and Wayside cross, dry wall donation, flooring donation, lumber donation, and more.) MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES is responding to the devastating earthquakes that have ravaged Syria and Turkey. So far they have shipped more than 50,000 pounds of aid to their partners working in these areas, including personal care items, clothing, and more.. Some of these supplies have been airlifted for immediate, rapid distribution. Additional shipments of supplies will go via ocean bound containers to assist with on-going and long-term needs.To learn how you can help support Turkey and Syria earthquake relief efforts, visit their website. ST. FRANCIS SERAPH MINISTRIES offers a unique, personal connection to those who need special care for their feet. Those who are underserved and/or experiencing homelessness spend so much time on their feet, frequently walking long distances daily. The Foot Care for the Souls program depends on trained volunteers and community support. Volunteers provide foot care, foot massage, new socks, and shoes to the homeless and working poor in Greater Cincinnati! LAST MILE FOOD RESCUE, In Avondale, a neighborhood where obtaining fresh, nutritious food has posed an ongoing challenge, the alliance between Last Mile Food Rescue and the Crescent Parishes Garden stands as a testament to community unity and resilience. Last Mile Food Rescue, unwavering in its mission to combat food insecurity and reduce waste, partners with the Crescent Parishes Garden, an initiative deeply committed to cultivating nourishing produce for those in need. This collaboration has yielded a remarkable outcome, with over 800 pounds of freshly grown, organic produce finding its way to Avondale's underserved residents through The Last Mile Market. CAREGIVER ASSISTANCE NETWORK, Bring hope to those in need by volunteering with our Caregiver Assistance Network programs. Enrich your life as well as the lives of others by mentoring current caregivers, co-facilitating caregiver support groups, co-leading Powerful Tools for Caregiver classes, or helping people living with dementia participate in our Creative Connections program. All volunteers will receive training and support. HELP LOCAL REFUGEES - With a large influx of refugees coming to Cincinnati, Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio Refugee Resettlement Services needs your help for the families we are receiving. We need donations of furniture and other household items (linens, dishes, pots and pans, etc.). Volunteers are greatly needed to pick up furniture and set up housing, as well as to serve as mentors for refugee youth. VOLUNTEER FOR SU CASA HISPANIC CENTER - Su Casa Hispanic Center is in need of bilingual volunteers at the reception desk located at Catholic Charities Southwestern Ohio, 7162 Reading Rd., Floor 7, Cincinnati, OH 45237. Volunteers are needed for morning shifts, Monday-Friday, and will need computer/database experience, including the ability to assist clients in completing intake forms, as well as the ability to work with Spanish-speaking clients in person and on the phone. FOOD FOR ALL - Nutritious, affordable food is not readily available to every person in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Hunger exists in our communities.
