HELP NEEDED: ENHANCING OUR LITURGIES!

Do you have some free time during the week once a month to offer our parish? We are in need of people to help collate and staple our weekend worship aid programs on Thursday or Friday before the weekend. Training is provided. This is a great job for a family to take on together, or a group of friends to do over coffee! Ideally, there would be teams of a few people each, so that each team was responsible only once a month. If you would be willing to give of your time to this effort, please contact Kathy in the parish office.

PARISH PICNIC

Please save the date of Sunday, August 15, from 4 to 7 pm, on the Feast of the Assumption (August 14th is the Patronal Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, our parish saint).  There will be plenty of food and fun for everyone, including a corn-hole tournament!  Volunteers are always welcome.  Share your culinary talents with the whole parish by bringing YOUR SIGNATURE appetizer, salad, side dish, or dessert to the picnic.  It's your chance to show off your family favorite!  Don't worry about the alphabetical assignment, bring what you'd like - POTLUCK!

New this year:  A Dessert Contest!  Does everyone tell you that your desserts are the best?  Are you Paula Dean with a 'stick o' butter' or Bobby Flay with 'sugar and spice'?  Bring your favorite dessert to the Parish Picnic and let our judges decide who in the parish rocks the best sweet tooth!  Sign ups will be after Masses beginning the weekend of July 24-25 through the weekend of August 7-8.

Corn Hole Tournament - Are you the King or Queen of corn hole?  Come out and compete against your fellow parishioners for the title of St. Max Corn Hole Champion.  Sign ups will be after Masses beginning the weekend of July 24-25 through the weekend of August 7-8.

I want to register for the Parish Picnic!

A WORD FROM THE PASTORAL ASSOCIATE FOR LITURGY & MUSIC

Thanks to the many of you who have already welcomed me so warmly – I already feel very at home here at St. Max, and I look forward to ministering to and with you.  Together, I hope we can build upon the wonderful liturgical life here in the parish and continue the joyful duty of praising God and celebrating the Eucharist.  Read more...
