Adolescents in 8th – 12th grade normally begin preparation approximately 3 months in advance. A parent is required to attend a Sacramental Preparation Orientation Meeting (scheduled in early spring or late fall).
Step 1: Parent Information Meeting
Join our Sacramental Preparation staff for one of these required meetings. You’ll get an overview of the sacramental preparation process at St. Max, learn how to get signed up for formation programs , and have an opportunity to ask questions of our ministry staff. Thank you to families attended the May meetings for Fall 2022 preparation and celebration of Confirmation!

Sunday, October 2nd 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
Tuesday, October 4th 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday, October 8th 9:30 am - 11:00 am
Wednesday, October 12th 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Step 2: Registration
Materials to register and calendars with deadlines/meeting dates will be given out at the informational meeting.
Step 3: Catechetical Formation
All who have registered by turning in a signed contract are invited to participate in the catechetical formation, comprised of an opening event, sessions for candidates and sponsors, a retreat, and work at home on a portfolio.
Step 4: Interview with the Pastor
After catechesis, candidates interview with the pastor, to review their portfolio and talk about the family’s journey of faith. Interviews are scheduled using an online tool, and must be completed before celebration can take place.
Step 5: Celebration
Candidates celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.
