The St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVdP) is a worldwide organization of lay Catholic men and women who grow in spirituality through service. Our faith calls us to serve the poor and we are committed to serving anyone in need — with compassion, dignity, and respect — regardless of age, ethnicity, or religious belief.
Our SVdP Conference at St. Max has been serving the local community since 2005, providing emergency assistance and connecting people to long-term resources.

Part of a Worldwide Mission
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in Paris on April 23, 1833, by Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, with St. Vincent de Paul as its patron. Today, SVdP serves in 155 countries with over 800,000 members worldwide. In the United States, SVdP began in 1845 in St. Louis, Missouri, and now includes over 100,000 members serving more than 14 million people each year.
“We should spend as much time thanking God for His benefits as we do in asking for them.”
— St. Vincent de Paul
