First Penance and First Communion Preparation

Thank you for being a part of Together in Jesus First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Programs at-home for RFY this year!  Our hope is that this will provide some additional background for First Penance and First Communion preparation here at Saint Maximilian Kolbe Church.  This WILL NOT replace the First Penance and First Eucharist preparation program.

Getting Started

Please submit each week’s materials either directly via email to rburbrink@saint-max.org OR  submit paper version to the SACRAMENT “MAILBOX” which can be found on top of the mailboxes in the breezeway. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR YOUTH’S NAME ON ALL PAGES OF ANY EMAIL/PAPER DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED.

  • Weekly lessons will be released each Sunday and will include a Gospel reading and reflection.

    In addition to the Gospel reading/reflection each week, there will be another component to complete:

    1. There six lessons/handouts for Together in Jesus...First Reconciliation and also six lessons/handouts for Together in Jesus...First Eucharist. These will always be the first week of a numbered lesson. Emailed responses can be typed answers to questions or attached photos of completed questions, or activities. IF sending photos, please attach photos using smallest possible resolution OR...

    2. Completing indicated pages in the Family Activity and Memory Book. Emailed responses can be typed answers to questions or attached photos of completed questions, or activities. IF sending photos, please attach photos using smallest possible resolution.

    Please submit each week's materials through email to rburbrink@saint-max.org or submit paper version to the "Sacrament Mailbox" which can be found on top of the mailboxes in the breezeway. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR YOUTH'S NAME ON EACH PAGE OF ANY EMAILED/PAPER DOCUMENTS.

    Please hold on to ALL materials for the year, just tucking them back into the bag you received at the beginning of the year. If you are turning in hard copies of the materials, please let me know if you would like me to return them at the end of the year.

    1. Gospel readings/reflections (readings included with the lesson) are always required.  There are two possible ways to "reflect" on the Gospel (only one is required)

      1. If you have other children doing Gospel Weeklies, please feel free to continue to reflect as a family and submit your reflection through the JOT FORM.  Please just indicate this is what you have done.  

      2. Questions provided with the Gospel may be answered.

  • Lessons are due once a week on Sundays beginning on September 20 and ending March 7. These lessons end a little earlier than the regular Gospel Weekly lessons.
