How can I help others develop a deeper relationship with God? How can I deepen my own relationship with God? What thrills me about the Catholic Faith so much, I can’t wait to share it with others? How can I learn more about the Catholic Faith?
If you are searching to fulfill the answers to any of these questions, then joining the Faith on Fire formation program as a volunteer catechist may be the perfect fit for you! God has given you graces in your life that need to be shared with our young parishioners! Engage them and share what you love! You will certainly notice your faith is strengthened in the process and you will VERY likely leave the classroom with a better understanding of the Catholic faith.
In the view of St. Ignatius of Loyola, teaching involves meeting learners where they are and guiding them towards the next step in their journeys. In religious education, this idea emphasizes starting with the child’s perspective (they enter through their door) and then leading them towards a deeper understanding of God and their relationship with Him (they leave through God’s door). Consider becoming a catechist to open the doors of the awesome Catholic faith to our parish youth.
JOIN US! Our Faith on Fire Gatherings are on Sundays (4:30-6:00 PM) and Mondays (6:00-7:30 PM). There are 12 Gatherings from September-March. Safe Parish training (online) is required for high school graduates 18+.
