What are Outreach Allocation Funds and
Who Is the Outreach Allocation Committee?
St. Max’s donation budget is determined by the amount of the funds collected and earmarked for Charitable Outreach in addition to any other monies determined by the pastor and finance council.
The Outreach Allocation Committee (OAC) consists of members of the parish, a non-voting member of finance council, the non-voting Director of Outreach, and at least two Outreach Commission (OC) members. A minimum of six members comprise this committee which reviews, vets, and makes recommendations from the applications received from outside 501(c)3 organizations. Any non-profit 501(c)3 organization may apply for Outreach Allocation funds, outlining a specific project goal. Applications remain on file for our fiscal year, July 1 through June 30, and must be resubmitted every year afterward with a specific project.
After funds have been distributed, the OAC follows-up with the recipient organizations to verify the donations have been used in accordance with the purpose stated in the original application, as well as in alignment with Catholic Social Teaching. A database is maintained to collect vital information about the various organizations, amounts and timing of donations to better manage and report the actual impact of St. Max outreach to our parishioners.
The Outreach Allocation Committee welcomes interested parishioners to join their team which meets three times a year in February, June and October. Please contact Steve Sullivan sepsullivan@gmail.com or Lakmé Kodros 513-777-4322x105 or outreachallocationcommittee@saint-max.org for more information.
