Godparents

Like parents, godparents are called to be witness of our faith to the child that is to be baptized.  This implies that a godparent is striving to live the faith and to follow the teachings of Christ’s Church.  Because they assist parents in bringing the child into the life of the Church, godparents themselves need to be regular and active participants in the Church.  Here is a helpful guide as to who may serve as a catholic godparent.

Godparent Form

If you have been asked to serve as a godparent, and the baptism will be held here at St. Max, please fill out a godparent form and have it signed by your pastor, and return it to the parish office.  The godparent form can be found here.

Godparent at another parish

If you have been asked to serve as a godparent , and the baptism will be taking place at another parish, you can request a letter of good standing here.  The letter will be mailed directly to the church of baptism, unless you request otherwise.  Please allow up to one week for processing.
