Confirmation Preparation Process. Small group facilitators have been asked
to confiscate any visible electronic devices. All electronic devices will

RFY Requirements for Confirmation Prep
Father Geoff has firmly stated that successful completion of
6th and 7th grade Religious Education Curriculum is a necessary requirement for entry
into the Confirmation Preparation Program. This is accomplished by being
enrolled in and regularly attending RFY classes; enrolling in and successfully
participating in the RFY home study program; attending a Catholic Elementary
School; or studying an approved course of Religious
Education in a home school setting. Registrations for Confirmation
Preparation will be withheld from those students who do not meet this criteria
or until the work is completed. As this school year winds down, please be
sure that all your requirements are met.

Kudos for Catechists…as Preachers
On October 12, while Cardinal DiNardo was at the Synod of
Bishops in Rome, “The Word of God in the Life and Ministry of the Church,” he
was interviewed by John Allen a correspondent for The National Catholic
Reporter. In response to a question from Allen regarding preaching by lay
people, Cardinal DiNardo said,
“In non-Eucharistic contexts I think it’s a great idea, because some of them are
very talented. Although people don’t look at it as preaching, I often say that
some of the finest preachers we have are some of our volunteer catechists in
some of our religious education programs. They keep those kids coming and buoy
them up. I have the greatest regard for them, and I think what they’re doing is
a kind of preaching.” --Leland Nagel
