FALL RETREAT PICTURES

Dear Fr. Terry and you other good folks:
Well, here we are, Monday morning, November 5th - the sun is out bright, we have
a blue sky, and we have just gone through another weekend with the folks from
your beautiful church there in Cincinnati. I hope you don't mind, Terry, that I
am cc'ing Jack and John with this note as well. Thanks!
This past Friday the cars started to roll in. They were filled with goodies to
the point that you thought they were coming down for Christmas. They had
machines, food, and desserts that were embarrassing, especially to this old
diabetic, but better than all stated, the cars, trucks, and vans were filled
with people and a fantastic spirit of giving, sharing, and discipleship. Many of
these folks have been to this part of the Country before, although some were
new. We entitled it way back when to be the Father and Son Retreat. We held to
that and I am proud to report the Holy Spirit descended upon our little church
and our bunch in a splendid way.
The five projects that they tackled were all completed as in the past. Ramps,
two in number, were started and finished splendidly. Congratulations to the men
and young fellas who did the projects. The undergirding of a house to stabilize
it was completed, thanks to the folks who worked there as well. Back to our
little church, the roof of the church on the backside had shingles missing. They
were replaced in fine fashion. Local church members and folks from your church
took care of that and cleaned all of the gutters as well. Then a major blacktop
mending process took place where three holes were dug out and filled in splendid
fashion. Finally, the good old kitchen crew - they kept us supplied at the
worksite and at mealtime in fine fashion. Father Terry, thank you. John and
Jack, thank you for your leadership. Finally, I wish, Fr. Terry, you could have
been at the two closing liturgies of our weekend retreat. One was at Prince of
Peace and the other an hour away at St. Julie's in Owingsville. Both were an
experience of tremendous joy and praise. I feel confident God was pleased with
the efforts of your people and ours here in the mountains as well.
We promise to pray for you and your Church there in Cincy. Please accept our
gratefulness to all of you.
Much Love,
Father Jerry Dorn and the Crew
