Marriage

Congratulations on your engagement! For couples wishing to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at St. Max, at least one must be a registered member of the parish. Archdiocesan policy normally requires at least a six-month preparation period for the Sacrament of Marriage. Contact Father Geoff Drew at the parish office at 777-4322 to schedule a wedding date and time. He will talk to you about which priest or deacon will prepare you for marriage and preside at your wedding. You can then make an appointment with that priest or deacon to begin the preparation and planning process.

The current Wedding Policy is under review.  Please contact the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy and Music, Jeremy Helmes in the parish office with questions.

THE WEDDING ASSISTANT PROGRAM

One Wedding Assistant is needed for each wedding rehearsal and ceremony celebrated at St. Max. Wedding Assistants are responsible for performing the following tasks; running the Rehearsal (either with or without the direction of the deacon/priest); setting up the Sanctuary for the Wedding; performing Sacristan duties (if needed for a wedding performed within a Mass); guiding the bridal party before, during and after the Wedding; and tidying up the Sanctuary and Hospitality Room after the bridal party departs. This requires a multi-day, multiple hour commitment on a Friday evening (Rehearsal) and Saturday morning or evening (Wedding), only once per month. Training, policies, and a small stipend are provided. Good communication skills and neat appearance are required.  If you are interested in becoming a Wedding Assistant, please contact Jeremy Helmes at 777-4322, ext. 103.
