Help for our troubled times
Help for our Troubled Times
Welcome to our new page, "Help in our Troubled Times." Our goal is to
provide helpful information to families struggling through the current economic
crisis.
Foreclosure Forums
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati's purpose with
these efforts is both to offer support to families facing foreclosure in our
parishes as well as to educate people about the roots of the foreclosure crisis
and see what we might do together to address it. Due to the
interest generated from our first three foreclosure forums, the Foreclosure Task
Force of the Greater Cincinnati Parish Social Action Collaborative, Archdiocese
Catholic Social Action Office, and the non-profit agency Working In
Neighborhoods (WIN) are sponsoring additional forums for the Cincinnati area!
Please consider attending one of these events to learn more about the
foreclosure crisis and where to find help.
None currently
scheduled. Please check back soon!
For more information, contact Dave Scharfenberger of Working In
Neighborhoods (WIN) at 513.541.4109. The forums are sponsored by the Advocates
for Justice: Greater Cincinnati Parish Collaborative, Catholic Social Action
Office, and Working In Neighborhoods.
These informational forums will address the extremely high
foreclosure rate in Greater Cincinnati and why this is such an important issue
for ALL Homeowners! Learn:
How to avoid predatory home mortgages;
How foreclosure affects community services and schools;
What to do to avoid a foreclosure and where to turn for help;
How to be an advocate for your neighborhood.

alert from the Ohio bishops regarding several pending bills in the state
legislature related to the foreclosure issue.
