Starting 2/9/2017...Prayer Workshop- Learning to Pray with Scripture
For all of us! Whether you have taken the 1% Challenge or not, this workshop is for you!
Do you find it easy to pray? Is prayer an integral part of your day? Do you hear God’s voice in your daily life, and know how to respond accordingly? For many of us, the answer to these questions is, “no.” We all desire an intimate relationship with God. But, since learning to “say our prayers” as children, we never moved beyond rote recitation to an authentic conversation with God. In Scripture we read of profound interactions people have with God. We hear of Saints who seemed to have a direct line to Him their entire lives. But most of the time we feel like this is far beyond our reach. After all, we’re not prophets, and certainly not (yet) Saints! For most of us prayer becomes a source of frustration as we struggle to calm our minds and find even a few minutes to set aside to pray. In our busy lives prayer is seen as a luxury, when in reality it is at the foundation of a healthy spiritual life.
The good news is you can overcome your difficulties with prayer, and it is easier than you might think. Join us at St. Max for 8 Thursdays beginning February 9th . Chuck Ciccia will lead us in Oremus, a Catholic prayer workshop. We’ll begin at 7pm in the Large Conference Room. Cost is free or you can bring a $15 donation to cover materials. Please let us know by 1/2 if you are coming so we can order a workbook for you by emailing email@example.com or calling the parish office.
St. Benedict Bible Study
Saturday mornings 9:15 - 11:00 Room 4
This group studies the upcoming Sunday Mass readings to gain a better understanding of God's word. Practical applications are made to show how God is speaking to you directly in your personal life, your community and the world you live in. For more information, contact Paul Groh.
Tuesday morning Bible Study
9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Large Conference Room
This flexible, laid back eclectic group has members with varied levels of Scripture Study experience. For some, it is the first time they have studied scripture, others have been studying for over 20 years. This diversity provides for great discussion and reflection as we each seek to discern God's individual message to us through His Living Word. In January of 2014, we will begin the Study of Joshua, Judges and Ruth. Individuals are welcome to join the study at any time throughout the year. Sessions follow the school calendar to allow parents to be available when students are not in school. Faith Lessons for Women

The group meets Wednesday mornings during the school year from 9:30-11:30AM in the conference room. If you have questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in childcare, please email email@example.com.
