The ministry of the library is to care for the current collection of print books, audio books, and videos/DVDs, and to process newly purchased as well as donated items. Volunteers are needed to work in the library after weekend Masses for one-half hour, once a month—this includes checking items out and in, adding new patrons to the library computer system, reshelving items and checking the return box for returned items. There is also a need for volunteers to assist during the week by making sure items are shelved correctly and neatly, contacting patrons with overdue items and periodically processing new acquisitions. This process involves using the library computer to input cataloging information as well as assigning barcodes. Training is provided. Volunteers are welcome in all aspects of the library’s mission.
